The Society of Infectious Diseases (Singapore), or SIDS for short, was founded in 1990 to promote the practice, education, training and prevention of infectious diseases in Singapore. Our members comprise infectious disease, microbiology and preventive medicine doctors, and infectious disease nurses, pharmacists and researchers, and students in these disciplines. Our missions are: to advance the knowledge and practice of infectious diseases and its related fields; to promote research in these fields and to organise regular scientific discussions, meetings, symposia, seminars, and workshops on subjects related to infectious diseases. We also aim to collaborate with similar societies or the pharmaceutical industry to enhance the study and research in infectious diseases. We are affiliated with International Society of Chemotherapy (http://www.ischemo.org/) and the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (http://www.apscmi.org/benefits.php).
